Academy Day (Primary)
The shape of the Academy day at Matford Brook Academy is designed to ensure our pupils have a rich, broad and rigorous learning experience every day.
The timings of our Academy day for Reception pupils are:

During drop-off, pupils have a range of EML learning activities to help them settle in and get ready for a busy day of learning! Pupils should be in their classroom for registration at 0845. |
| 0855 - 1130 | Morning session | |
| 11030 - 1230 | Family Dining | During Family Dining, our staff and pupils eat lunch together. This is a special part of the day where we share food, learn to serve each other and enjoy conversations together, as well as sharing Appreciations for the people who help us in our lives. Pupils then go into their outdoor play. |
| 1230 - 1500 | Afternoon session | |
| 1500 - 1515 | Reflection | Our daily Reflection ensures children have the chance to celebrate their successes and look ahead to the following day. |
As pupils progress through the school, the shape of the Academy day will evolve, including a finish of 3.30pm in Chapter Two (Years 1-4) and moving towards a finish of 4pm in Chapter Three (by Year 6). This will also include a 2pm finish on Fridays.
Wraparound before and after school care will be available at an additional cost per session. Details will be shared with families as they are finalised.
