SEND

Special Education Needs and Disabilities

At Matford Brook Academy we are committed to offering an inclusive curriculum to ensure the best possible progress for all pupils. We value all children equally and do our utmost to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We try hard to work alongside parents to support our students in a way that is as inclusive as possible and which will enable them to fulfil their academic potential and prepare them effectively for their next steps on leaving us.

SEND provision is organised under the four areas of need identified in the 2015 SEND Code of Practice.

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social emotional and mental health
  • Physical/Sensory

All the information about how we support students with SEND at the school is contained within our SEND report and SEND Policy.

The school’s SENDCo is Emily Simpson-Horne: [email protected]

We would invite you to share any concerns, questions or successes as we find that good communication is at the heart of effective provision.
